Rally Round-Up 2024: Celebrating a Season of Speed

Jason Mitchell

From the adrenaline-fuelled kick-off at Kirkistown Stages to the grand finale in the forests of County Tyrone, this year’s championship brought Northern Ireland’s finest rally talent together in a true celebration of speed, skill, and camaraderie.

Season Highlights: Moments That Defined the 2024 Rally Championship

This year’s rally calendar didn’t disappoint. Across five rounds in the NI Championship and three more in the Forest Challenge, we saw everything from fierce night-time stages to challenging tarmac links that put drivers and their cars to the ultimate test. As fans ourselves, it was a thrill to witness Jason Mitchell and Caolan McKenna claim a start-to-finish victory at the Dogleap Rally. And we can’t forget the crowd-pleasing two-wheel drive battle, where Shane McGirr’s iconic Lada Riva took the 2WD win, with Denver Rafferty securing the overall co-driver title.

The action on the tracks kept us on the edge of our seats, but it was the spirit of sportsmanship, grit, and passion from every participant that made the season unforgettable.

Bringing the Action to You

One of the best parts of this year has been seeing the rally community grow and engage with the sport through social media. With more content and enhanced video coverage, we’ve loved seeing the highlights resurface across rally channels and, of course, sharing them on our own. This increased engagement is something we’re genuinely excited about – it’s brilliant to see fans reliving the action and supporting their favourite drivers, just as we do.

Looking Back on 2024

As a company that’s been part of Northern Ireland’s rally scene for 30 years, we’re here not just as sponsors but as fans and participants. Fintan McGrady, our founder, has been in the driver’s seat himself for over 45 years, and our involvement in this championship means the world to us. It’s our way of giving back to a community that’s been so integral to our journey as a company.

Reflecting on the year, Aidan Hughes, our Managing Director, says:

“Sponsoring the Northern Ireland Rally Championship is more than just a partnership – it’s a source of pride for us. Watching the talent, passion, and sheer commitment from everyone involved reminds us why we’re here, year after year. We can’t wait to see what next season brings.”

As the dust settles on another fantastic season, we want to extend our thanks to the drivers, organisers, volunteers, and everyone who makes these events possible – especially the local communities who allow us to rally through their neighbourhoods. Here’s to another successful season, and we’re already counting down to 2025!
